The Tootgarook Holiday House was established to
offer residents of Kew Cottages the opportunity to have a beach holiday
- something we all take for granted.
The house continues to offer affordable holidays to current and former
residents of Kew Cottages; but is also being used by an increasing number
of other Victorians with an intellectual disability, their families and
service providers.
Tootgarook house has many features these include:
Four large bedrooms for clients with eleven single beds (3x3 and 1x2).
Two bedrooms for staff, with three single beds and a separate toilet and
bathroom.
Large specially designed and recently refurbished disabled bathroom and
toilet with shower bath and shower chairs.
Fully-equipped kitchen and dining area with all amenities including a
dishwasher, refrigerator, electric cooktop and microwave oven.
Easy wheelchair access.
Portable Hoist.
Laundry with industrial washer and dryer.
Large lounge with television and VCR, and internal atrium made of safety
glass.
Outdoor covered area with portable BBQ, outdoor seating.
